COLLEGEVILLE (PA) – The Delaware Valley College men's and women's indoor track and field teams opened the 2014-15 season by competing at the Bow-Tie Track Classic hosted by Ursinus College on Saturday. The men finished 13
th out of 19 schools in the team standings while the women came in 17
th out of 20 teams.
Freshman Tar'riq Thomas shined as the top Aggie performer on the day with a first-place finish in the men's triple jump event. He notched a leap of 44 feet, 5.25 inches. In the 60-meter dash, senior
Brian Carter crossed the finish line in second place with a time of 7.03 seconds, just two hundredths of a second off of first place. Sophomore
Shane Bush also earned points for Delaware Valley with a sixth-place finish after clearing the bar at 5 feet, 10 inches in the high jump.
On the women's side, freshman
Kat Przybylowski took fourth place in the high jump as she was able to clear the bar at 4 feet, 11.75 inches. Senior
Brittany Roberts took seventh in the pole vault with a max clearance of 7 feet, 6 inches. Junior
Samantha King earned points for the Aggies with a throw of 33 feet, 2 inches to take eighth place.
The men earned 22.5 points as a team for the 13
th place finish while Johns Hopkins University took home the top spot with 102.5 points. The Blue Jays also earned first place on the women's side with 137 points while the Aggie women totaled eight points for their team finish.
