ANNVILLE (PA) – The Delaware Valley men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships hosted by Lebanon Valley College on Saturday. Neither team had enough runners to qualify for the team standings.
In the women's 6K heat, sophomore standout
Samantha Will just missed out on all-conference accolades with her 21
st place finish and a time of 24 minutes, 27.94 seconds (top 20 finishers earned all-MAC recognition. She improved her MAC standing from her freshman year when she placed 55
th.
Teammates
Sara Chamberlain (25:55.32) and
Stephanie Unger, (28:51.25) also topped their championships performances from a season ago. Chamberlain, who finished 99
th last year, took 61
st while Unger, a senior, placed 114
th and 14 slots better than her 2013 showing.
On the men's side, Delaware Valley brought just two runners to compete in the 8K heat.
Kris Kline finished in 118
th place with a personal-best time of 33 minutes, 19.43 seconds while
Patrick Hastings was 135
th with a time of 38 minutes, 39.20 seconds.
Misericordia University captured the MAC women's title while Widener University's men took home the crown for the second year in a row.
