BETHLEHEM (PA) – In its final race of the year, the Delaware Valley College women's cross country team finished 51st out of 52 teams at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regionals that were held at Lehigh University.
The Aggies' five runners combined for a team score of 1,434 points. Johns Hopkins University blew the entire field away as they the Blue Jay had four of the top five finishers and ended with 26 points. Dickinson College and Marywood University followed with 94 and 118 points respectively.
Delaware Valley's top two individual finishers were freshmen in
Samantha Will and
Sara Chamberlain. Will crossed the finish line in 180th place thanks to a 6K time of 25 minutes, 10 seconds, which was exactly one minute better than her previous top time. Chamberlain was 302nd out of 358 runners with a time of 27 minutes, 35 seconds.
Stephanie Unger's last collegiate race saw her clocked in 29 minutes, 9 seconds for a 327th-place showing. Fellow senior
Laura Ludwig was 340th (31:06) while junior
Lily Beattie was 355th (34:00).
Lebanon Valley College's Kelsey Patrick captured the regional title with a time of exactly 21 minutes, 11 seconds faster than Hannah Oneda of Johns Hopkins.
