DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Sophomore Tyler Yankovich scored the lone goal of the game as Delaware Valley College posted a 1-0 victory over visiting Gwynedd-Mercy College in the season opener for both squads.

Yankovich received a pass from Eric Devlin, went around a Griffin defender and goalkeeper Mike Leonard, and deposited the ball into the net with 15:37 remaining in the first half. The Aggie defense took care of the rest as held Gwynedd-Mercy to just nine shots in the game.

Delaware Valley junior goalkeeper Tristan Preece, who missed the entire '09 campaign with an injury, recorded five saves for the shutout. Leonard stopped four shots at the other end.
