DOYLESTOWN (PA) – It's yet another top 10 ranking for the Delaware Valley College football team as the Aggies are listed in the number 10 spot in the
D3football.com preseason Top 25.
The last preseason poll of the year has Delaware Valley as the lone Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) squad in the top 25. The Aggies are also the top-ranked team from the East Region with New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) school Montclair State University holding the only other spot for the region as it is ranked 25th.
Delaware Valley has been ranked among the best in Division III in every preseason publication this year. It was listed seventh by both
Lindy's and
The Sporting News while
USA Today had the squad eighth in their preseason poll. Earlier this week, the MAC coaches selected the Aggies as the favorite to win a third straight conference title.
2009 MAC Coach of the Year Jim Clements has 18 starters back from a '09 team that posted a 10-2 overall record, captured the MAC crown with a perfect 7-0 mark in league play and reached the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs.
Delaware Valley opens the 2010 season with a trip to Muhlenberg College on Saturday night, September 4. The following two non-conference games are against teams ranked in the
D3football.com Top 25 as the Aggies host No. 21 Washington & Jefferson College on September 11 before travelling to No. 3 Wesley College on September 18.
