CHESTER (PA) – Delaware Valley picked up points in eight of the first nine events and is in sixth place out of 10 squads after the second day of competition at the 2010 Middle Atlantic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Widener University.

The Aggies have a total of 27 points and are just 8.5 points out of the top five. DeSales University leads the way with 102 points while Widener (65), Elizabethtown College (53.5), Messiah College (37) and Lebanon Valley (35.5) round out the top five.

Sophomore Tom Masterson had the best showing for Delaware Valley as he took third in the triple jump with a leap of 43 feet, 5.75 inches. He also placed fifth in the high jump by clearing the bar at 6 feet, 4 inches.

Frank Visconti also registered points in two events as the freshman took fifth in the discus with a throw of 134 feet, 3 inches and sixth in the shot put with a toss of 45 feet, 1.75 inches.

Senior Chip Brumbaugh and junior Jon Petrilak each took fifth in an event to earn four points for the squad. Brumbaugh was clocked in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 33 minutes, 8.36 seconds while Petrilak racked up 4,343 points in the decathlon.

Delaware Valley also received points from freshmen Anthony Jackson and Chris Whitley as they placed eighth in the triple jump (41-5.75) and the discus (121-10) respectively.
