HERSHEY (PA) – The Delaware Valley College finished in seventh place out of eight squads at the 2010 Freedom Conference Championship, which was held on the East Course of the Hershey Country Club.
The Aggies racked up a two-day, 36-hole score of 712 to top Eastern University's 816. Manhattanville College ran away with the team title and the automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championships that goes along with it as the Valiants' score of 606 was 39 strokes better than runner-up King's College. FDU-Florham (664), Wilkes University (678), Misericordia University (683) and DeSales University (698) rounded out the field.
Individually,
Jeff Smith led Delaware Valley and placed 13th out of 40 golfers with a two-round score of 166 (80-86).
Mike Cavalieri took 29th with a 177 (86-91) while David Mosher was 30th with a 183 (93-90).
Doug Schrader was tied for 31st with a 187 (94-93) while Jesse Riddington had a two-day score of 201 (93-108) and finished in 35th place.
Manhattanville College's Mike Cresci won the individual title with a seven-over-par 149 (72-77). Teammate Mike Bowers was two strokes behind after rounds of 74 and 77.
