TRIO OF AGGIES SHINE AT ECAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

SPRINGFIELD (MA) -- Tom Masterson captured top honors in the javelin and placed in the long jump as well while Meghan Donovan and Caitlin Dorgan also registered points for Delaware Valley College at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Springfield College.

The Aggies finished tied for 19th place on the men's side with 12 points while the women were tied for 36th place with six points.

All 12 men's points came from Masterson as the sophomore followed his standout performance at the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships - where he was named the Most Outstanding Field Athlete - with another title. He defeated 24 other qualifiers in the javelin thanks to a throw of 196 feet, 4 inches. Masterson then competed in the long jump and took seventh with a leap of 21 feet, 8 inches.

Donovan, a sophomore as well, placed fifth in the high jump and notched four points for Delaware Valley by clearing the bar at 5 feet, 4.25 inches. Dorgan, a junior, finished in seventh place in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18 minutes, 21.53 seconds.
