Bethany Pavlik was named to the all-Freedom Conference softball team for the fourth straight year while freshmen
Jess Bensinger and
Allison Tomasino also earned spots with Tomasino picking up Rookie of the Year honors as well.
Pavlik garnered first-team accolades and capped one of the top careers in program history. She started 29 of the 31 games and led the Aggies in batting (.379), slugging (.536), hits (36), triples (5), home runs (2) and RBIs (28) while placing second in runs scored (20) and doubles (5). Pavlik owns the school's all-time record for RBIs with 98 and a share of the home run mark with 19. She finished second all-time in hits with 140 and fourth in batting with a .384 average.
Tomasino is the first Delaware Valley softball player to be named the Rookie of the Year since Pavlik picked up the award in 2007 and the second baseman also earned a spot on the Freedom first team. Tomasino played in 29 games with 26 starts, batted .322 (second behind Pavlik) and led the team in runs scored (23), stolen bases (9) and doubles (6).
Bensinger was a second-team selection behind the plate as the freshman appeared in 28 games (26 starts) and batted .309 with five doubles, 17 runs scored and five RBIs. She also worked with a pitching staff that had a 2.94 ERA.
Delaware Valley posted a 15-16 overall record, including a 5-9 mark in the Freedom Conference.
