But the Philadelphia area is chock full of other great sports stories and careers that have gone virtually unnoticed. Until now. Under Your Nose; shines the spotlight on incredible tales that will help remind you why you became a sports fan in the first place. From football to fencing, it's all in here. These stories will leave you wondering how you never heard them before . . especially considering they have been: Under Your Nose; the whole time! "
For the chapter on Delaware Valley wrestling, Leon interviewed a number of key figures around the program, including current head coach and two-time national champion Brandon Totten and former coach and Hall of Famer Robert Marshall. Former Aggie national champion Jamall Johnson is featured as one of the 10 pictures on the front cover of the book.
The Delaware Valley College wrestling program has amassed a 559-145-5 record over its 48-year existence as a varsity sport. The Aggies won 14 Middle Atlantic Conference titles when the conference sponsored the sport, and they have captured the last four NCAA Midwest Regional championships that they have competed in. The team finished second at the 1989 NCAA Division III Championships and has had four other top five finishes, including fifth-place showings in each of the last three seasons.
Individually, Delaware Valley has crowned nine Division III national champions and 65 All-Americans (top eight finish). Three Aggies are in the National Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame in Marshall (inducted as a coach in 1995), Totten (inducted as a wrestler in 2002) and Mark Ambrose (inducted as a wrestler in 2005).
