BLOOMSBURG (PA) – Delaware Valley College had a pair of first-place finishers on both the men's and women's sides to highlight the Aggies' showing at the Maroon & Gold Invitational held at Bloomsburg University. Team scoring was not held at the event.
Tom Masterson paced the Delaware Valley men as he finished in the top three in four events, including the javelin where he took top honors with a toss of 58.59 meters. The sophomore was the runner-up in both the long jump (6.5 meters) and the triple jump (13.07 meters) and was third in the 100-meter dash (11.78 seconds).
Fellow sophomore
Travis Pitts captured the 100-meter dash event as he hit the tape in 11.58 seconds. Joe DePetrillo and
Chas Heberlig placed third in the javelin (54.10 meters) and the long jump (5.75 meters) respectively.
On the women's side,
Caitlin Dorgan finished first and broke her own school record in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17 minutes, 54.50 seconds. It was just week after the junior set a new school standard in the 3,000-meter run.
Meghan Donovan also had a first-place finish as she cleared the high jump bar at 1.62 meters.
Kathy LeHew was the 400-meter dash runner-up with a time of 1 minute, 1.20 seconds while
Rachelle Salem broke her own school mark in the hammer throw with a toss if 32.63 meters.
