DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley College women’s basketball season will continue for another week and it can all take place at home as the Aggies were selected as the top seed for the 2010 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Region Championships. They will host eighth-seeded Juniata College in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, March 3 (7:00 p.m.).

For the Aggies (17-9), it is their eighth overall trip to the ECAC Championships and their first since 2002. They won the South Region title in both 1989 and 2001. They will host an Eagle squad that holds a 15-11 overall record and won the ECAC crown, ironically as the No. 8 seed, last season.

The rest of the ECAC South Region field has No. 2 Saint Vincent College (20-5) hosting No. 7 University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg (17-9), No. 3 Wesley College (17-10) hosting No. 6 Alvernia University (16-9) and No. 4 Widener University (15-11) hosting No. 5 Gywnedd-Mercy College (17-9).

The semifinals and finals will be held on Saturday and Sunday, March 6 and 7 at the highest remaining seed after Wednesday’s quarterfinals. The format means that Delaware Valley could host the championship over the weekend with a winner over Juniata. The Aggies are a perfect 11-0 at James Work Gymnasium this season.

Admission for Wednesday’s match-up is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and students.
