SELINSGROVE (PA) -- Travis Pitts took first place in the 55-meter dash to highlight Delaware Valley College's showing at Friday night's Susquehanna University Indoor Open. Team scoring was not held at the event.
Pitts competed against 22 other runners and the sophomore crossed the finish line in 6.63 seconds. The next closest time was 6.74 seconds by Thomas Kentouris of York College.
Tom Masterson tied for third in the high jump as he cleared the bar at six feet. Frank Visconti placed sixth in the shot put with a toss of 44 feet, 3.5 inches while Chas Heberlig was eighth in the triple jump with a mark of 40 feet, 7.5 inches.
On the women's side, Meghan Donovan tied for second out of 10 competitors in the high jump as she cleared the bar at exactly five feet. Caitlin Dorgan was third in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18 minutes, 33.28 seconds while Kathy Lehew was sixth in th 400-meter dash with a time of 1 minutes, 3.12 seconds. The Aggies' 4x200 relay team placed third with a time of 1 minutes, 53.13 seconds.
