WILKES-BARRE (PA) – The Delaware Valley College wrestling team, ranked eighth in Division III, won seven matches including three pins as the visiting Aggies posted a 38-12 victory over King's College .

Delaware Valley improved to 2-1 in dual meets while the Monarchs, who wrestled their sixth nationally-ranked opponent this season, fell to 0-10.

The Aggies jumped to a 20-0 lead thanks to a fall, technical fall, decision and forfeit in the first four weight classes. After Matt Ellis (5-6) was awarded a forfeit at 125 pounds, Charlie Frankel upped his mark to 6-6 thanks to an 18-3, technical fall victory over Rich Biesadesky at 133 pounds. Matt Ulrich (9-1), ranked fifth nationally at 141 pounds, made it 17-0 as he dropped Anthony Dietrick with just three seconds left in the first period (2:57). Joe Slane (4-7), subbing for nationally-ranked Emmanuel Ajagbe, ended the Aggie run with a 6-2 decision at 149.

King's took three of the next four weight classes, including one pin, to make it a 26-12 match. Tommy Desire earned a 10-4 decision over the Aggies' Zak Andrews, who was wrestling up two weight classes in place of returning All-American Jesse Harrington at 157. Delaware Valley's Dale Fava (8-5) picked up a win by forfeit at 165 pounds while the Monarchs' Jerry Robbins and Michael Reilly had a pin and a decision at 174 and 184 pounds respectively.

Delaware Valley capped the match with pins in the final two weight classes. Freshman Aaron Karns improved to 13-1 by stopping Matt Steltzer in just 61 seconds of their 197-pound match, and heavyweight Zeke Pyle (5-7) pinned Kevin Trant four seconds into the second period (3:04).

Delaware Valley returns to action on Saturday, December 11 (10:00 a.m.) when it travels to Muhlenberg College for a quad meet that involves the host Mules, Wilkes University and York College.
