GESSWEIN PICKS UP ANOTHER PRESEASON ACCOLADE; AGGIES HOLD NO. 4 SPOT IN LINDY'S SEASON PREVIEW

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The honors keep pouring in for the Delaware Valley College football team as the Aggies are ranked fourth in Lindy's 2009 College Football Preview while junior linebacker Kyle Gesswein (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) earned his second preseason accolade with a spot on the magazine's All-America First Team.

The ranking matches the highest in program history as Delaware Valley was fourth in the 2006 edition of Street & Smith's College Football Preview. It is also the second, top five ranking of the year as Sporting News had the Aggies fifth in the preseason publication.

Delaware Valley has 13 starters back from a team that went 8-3 with a share of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) title and an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Atlantic Bowl championship last year.

One of the returnees is Gesswein, who racked up 105 tackles and led the conference in both sacks (10.5) and tackles for loss (21) a season ago. He also notched four forced fumbles, three blocked kicks and two fumble recoveries.

The Aggies will open the season against another top 25 team as No. 24 Johns Hopkins University will head to James Work Memorial Stadium for a non-conference game on Saturday, September 5 (2:00 p.m.).
