DOYLESTOWN (PA) – For the third year in a row, Delaware Valley College junior shortstop
Bethany Pavlik (Lewes, DE/Sussex Tech) was an all-Freedom Conference softball selection, this time as a second-team honoree.
Pavlik was a first-team selection as an outfielder in both 2007 and 2008. She moved to shortstop this season and committed just eight errors in 164 chances as she helped solidify the Aggie infield for a freshman-laden team.
At the plate, Pavlik led the Delaware Valley and was fourth in the Freedom Conference in both batting (.430) and on-base percentage (.481). She also paced the Aggies in slugging percentage (.634) and hits (40), while placing second in doubles (5), triples (1), home runs (4), runs scored (18) and RBIs (21).
Pavlik will enter her senior season needed three home runs and 26 RBIs to break the school's all-time records of 19 home runs and 95 RBIs that former teammate Nicole Dorney set from 2005 to 2008.
Pavlik and the Aggies posted a 14-16 overall record in 2009 and qualified for the Freedom Conference playoffs for the third year in a row with a 10-6 mark in league play.
