DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley College assured itself of a winning record for the second straight season as the Aggies notched a 3-0 victory over Penn State Berks on Monday evening. Games scores were 25-18, 25-22 and 25-21.

Delaware Valley is now 14-7 overall with six matches remaining. Combined with last year’s 14-12 record, it will be the first time the Aggies have had back-to-back winning campaigns since posting three straight from 1996 to 1998.

Game one saw Delaware Valley score nine straight points to erase an early 7-6 deficit. The Aggies score nine straight in the second game as well, but fell behind 21-20. However, they earned five of the final six points to win the game. Penn State Berks (5-10) rallied from a 22-12 deficit and pulled to within two, 23-21 in the third game, but an Amy Estep block and an Ashley Mikulsky kill ended the match.

Estep had nine kills to pace Delaware Valley. She also added 14 digs and three blocks. Mikulksy and Kaitly Olsen finished with seven kills apiece with Mikulsky adding a match-high 21 digs. Amy Scordato dished out 14 assists in the win.

Penn State Berks was led by Susie Shelton’s 13 kills while Jerica Detsch had 11 kills and 10 digs. Glenda Ngo handed out 26 assists.
