HOLMDEL (NJ) -- The Delaware Valley College cross country team competed at the Monmouth University Invitational on Friday. The Aggie women placed second out of four teams in the Division II-III portion of the invitational while the men took third our three squads.
The invitational team results were split between the Division I schools and the rest of the field. Delaware Valley's women notched 55 points to trail only Division II Lock Haven University's 24 points.
Sophomore Caitlin Dorgan shined at the event as she placed eighth out of 145 competitors (Divisions I, II and III) with a 5K time of 19 minutes, 5 seconds. Junior Brittany Schwartz had a top 40 finish as her time of 20 minutes, 23 seconds was good enough for 36th place.
The men's side saw Delaware Valley rack up 82 points to trail Division II squads Lock Haven (15 points) and Felician College (50 points). Individually, freshman Rico Borrero placed 83rd out of 160 runners with an 8K time of 29 minutes, 10 seconds. Kevin McCoy was 94th with a time of 29 minutes, 28 seconds.
