AGGIES DROP 86-79 DECISION TO KEYSTONE IN SEASON OPENER
DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Tercel Taylor’s 21 points paced Keystone College to an 86-79, non-conference victory over host Delaware Valley College and spoiled the head coaching debut Casey Stitzel.

Stitzel, 27, took over the Aggie program in March. He revamped the roster with eight newcomers, four of whom were in the starting lineup on Tuesday evening.

After a back-and-forth opening eight minutes, the Giants (1-0) took the lead for good thanks to an 11-1 run. They eventually built the lead 42-29 at the intermission.

Delaware Valley pulled to within seven on a pair of occasions, including after a pair of Jason Goldheimer free throws made it 53-46 with 11:57 to go. Keystone responded by scoring eight of the next points, including four by Phillippe Workman, to take its largest lead of the game at 14.

The Aggies chipped away and got as close as five, 77-72, when Zach Wise came off the bench and hit a trey with 1:56 remaining. However, Ryan Sullivan netted four points in a 6-2, Keystone run and Delaware Valley never got closer than seven points the rest of the way.

Taylor connected on four treys as part of his team-high scoring effort. Sullivan finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds while Michael Kelly also had a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards.

Freshman Chris Mayo led the Aggies with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Senior Jason Seipt notched 15 points and seven assists while sophomore James Jones and freshman Mike Williams added 13 points apiece. Junior Brian Hilinski also hit double figures as he came off the bench and scored 10 points.
