Men's Cross Country

DORGAN WINS ALBRIGHT INVITATIONAL

READING (PA) – Sophomore Caitlin Dorgan captured top individual honors at the Albright College Invitational as the Delaware Valley College women's cross country placed second out of seven teams and the men took third out of nine squads.

The Aggie women, who were without the services of two-time all-Middle Atlantic Conference runner Brittany Schwartz, notched 45 points and trailed only Catholic University's 29 points. The main reason why was Dorgan as the 2007 all-conference honoree finished the 6K race, 60-competitor race in a time of 22 minutes, 47.3 seconds and nearly two minutes in front of runner-up Susan Bolgi of Penn State Berks (24:14.0)

Meghan Hunsicker placed sixth with a time of 25 minutes, 44.4 seconds while Melissa Plourde was ninth with a time of 26 minutes, 0.6 seconds.

On the men's side, Delaware Valley racked up 53 points to finish behind Catholic (48) and Albright (52). Chip Brumbaugh paced the team as his 8K time of 27 minutes, 56.2 seconds was good enough for third out of 94 runners. Rico Borrero took fifth-place honors with a time of 28 minutes, 28.9 seconds while Dan Fenstermacher took 13th with a time of 29 minutes, 26.6 seconds.
