Men's Cross Country

AGGIES RUN STRONG AT GMC INVITATIONAL

GWYNEDD VALLEY (PA) – The Delaware Valley College women's and men's cross country teams had strong showings at the Gwynedd-Mercy College Invitational on Saturday. The Aggie women placed second out of eight teams while the men were fourth out of nine squads.

The women notched 64 points to trail only Ursinus College (41 points) at the meet. The duo of Caitlin Dorgan and Brittany Schwartz paced the squad again as they finished second and third respectively out of 73 runners. Dorgan ran the 5K course in 19 minutes, 36.96 seconds while Schwartz was timed at 20 minutes, 15.46 seconds. Only Christa Johnson of Ursinus (18:48.73) notched a better time at the event.

On the men's side, Delaware Valley's 78 points had them behind only Gwynedd-Mercy (31), McDaniel College (41) and Ursinus (76). Kevin McCoy placed sixth out of 74 competitors with an 8K time of 29 minutes, 22.83 seconds. Rico Borreco also finished in the top 10 as his time of 29 minutes, 30.63 seconds placed him eighth.
